The Metropol Hotel is known for the warmth and service it offers to its visitors. It was founded in 1905.
This hotel has been the haunt of celebrities. There is a legend that it was in the central restaurant of the Metropol where Russian poet Esenin declared his love to famous dancer Isidora Duncan. In this hall the American movie Doctor Jivago was shot, and it was here that Russian designer Valentin Udashkin presented his first collection.
Undergoing a complete renovation in 1991, the hotel complex Metropol was recognized as the highest- class hotel.
In September, 1999 the Metropol Hotel was honored the annual prize in tourism.
